Melvin Chan

As the Founder and Managing Director of TalentEDge Solutions Sdn Bhd, his vast skills and experience from early exposure got him kickstarted with a career in Hewlett Packard (Malaysia) when he was still studying. He started his learning and development company soon after graduating as a result of his passion towards youth development initiatives since 2004, working together with great companies like General Electrics (GE), L'oreal and the Big 4 Accounting firms, namely Price Waterhouse Coopers, Ernst & Young, Deloitte and KPMG.

Making his debut of training stint with the FSTEP by Bank Negara Malaysia in 2008 and has since extended his reach from AIESEC, the largest student-run organisation in the world to renowned financial institutions such as United Overseas Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland. In 2009 and 2010, he has been actively involved in bridging the gap of career expectations between the Human Resources of corporations and pre-hires who have yet to graduate from higher learning institutions in Malaysia through innovative initiatives involving government agency and private companies.

Melvin's experience with the Melium Group in world class fashion retail business and Hewlett Packard (Malaysia), having helmed tasks from pre-sales like telesales and retail sales, to post-sales such as customer service and initial installation coordinator has groomed him to be a great talent in building and retaining customers network. He has also conducted talks and training sessions to over 15 higher learning institutions since 2008 on the significance of self-discovery emulating his success as a young individual with high aspirations.

Today, he works closely with experienced consultants and partners to create innovative solutions for the HR practitioners while continues to serve many organisations like Government Linked Companies (GLCs) and Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the area of human resource development consultancy.

Muhammad Sharif van der Burgh

SHARIF VAN DER BURGH is the provides customised sustainable change programs for individuals and organizations focusing on increasing effectiveness and quality of life based on universal principles and values.

As from 2005 to 2007 he worked as a Senior Financial Consultant for the Montpelier Group Nordic in KL setting up a new Personal Financial Life Style Plan Program in Asia according to European Customer Protective Advice Standards to service expatriates living and working overseas. In 2006, he became a certified associate consultant for FranklinCovey Malaysia specialized in Life management seminars - particularly in the 'What Matters Most™' curriculum.

Sharif's extensive ICT knowledge enabled him to become a specialist in the world-renowned and sophisticated FranklinCovey PlanPlus software for PDA users that features the FranklinCovey principles into an integrated electronic planning system. In this role he has coached several executives of leading companies like Siemens, MAA Insurance and Exxon.

Sharif started his career in The Hague, Holland as an Aegon Financial advisor and in 1993 he set up his own insurance brokerage office servicing over 1000 clients. His exemplary service record with clients resulted in him being invited by Delta Lloyd in 1997 to work as a Life Account Manager with the responsibility of improving the sales performance of over 30 international insurance brokers. In 2000, he was head-hunted by Delta Lloyd's largest broker Nationaal Spaarfonds NV to be Director of Education and Sales Development.

Apart from a successful career in sales and coaching in the Financial and Insurance Broking industry, Sharif's fields of expertise is in Commercial Economics and International Marketing which he studied in Groningen, Holland. Sharif is also a certified NLP practitioner and trainer, and has received accolades for his expertise in this field.

In February 2008 Sharif designed and launched a character building program for children to empower good moral and to prevent smoking and Mat Rempit: 'BE COOL' program. This NLP based program created a significant impact that in 2008, he has trained over 1600 students, children and orphans from over 5 Universities as well 12 Secondary Schools to create value and a better world.

Sharif has till date trained over 9.000 people in Holland and Malaysia in over 54 companies like ING, Siemens, Exxon, Accenture, British American Tobacco, Maxis, UEM and MISC.

Khoo Boo Hank

Hank since the age of 25, has designed and conducted trainings in Jakarta, Singapore and Hong Kong. Hank graduated from Universiti Utara Malaysia as a Maybank Scholar and served as a consultant and trainer for the Credit Cards division in Maybank. He has also contributed to the design of new scholar orientation program before embarking in the business banking division in Southern Bank.

Experiencing the merger with CIMB, Hank was then assigned to drive the transformation for CIMB in the area of customer service and later as a regional trainer in CIMB Hong Kong, Jakarta and Singapore. Hank has subsequently conducted programs on Human Behavior, Forward Banking Experience Workshop and cross-selling for CIMB Bank and international bank.

Well known as the "why guy", Hank specializes on creating impact results for various organization and individual through an accelerated experiential learning; hitting on impactful questions to trigger the participants to create a long term result in their lives. Having trained more than 10,000 people nationwide, Hank is a highly sort after trainer and speaker with the mission to unleash the people to their full potential.

Hank is also currently the training director and co-founder of both Discovery House and Discovery Cube. Discovery Cube provides the most empowering experience for a person to grow and achieve their greatest potential.

KW LOKE

EXPOSURE Loke is one of the most articulate, energetic, powerful and thought-provoking 'inspirational' trainer with over 16 years in the sales, service and talent development industry. He has trained and coached over 18,000 people, from chefs and clericals to CEOs and senior management of multi national companies. His delivery methods are unique and fresh, incorporating 'magic', humor and 'object lessons' to empower participants to discover new learning and perspectives.

EXPERIENCE Loke brings with him extensive corporate experience in the area of customer service, ISO standardization, banking security, marketing & sales and risk management. He was the chief trainer for Re-Branding Training for CIMB Bank, Re-Branding for UMW and and Brand Enhancement Program for Mahkota Hospital. He developed 'Fast Start Development Path' and learning modules for their newly launched CIMB's Telemarketing Unit and also serve as training consultant for their Call Centre Integration project. There he was responsible in looking into their training needs, developing learning solutions, implementation of programs and return on training investment measurement. Loke believes that training is not just confined to the classroom. As such he promoted and implemented alternative learning channels – such as E-Learning and Motivational Minutes.

EDUCATION As a certified Instructional Designer, Loke has designed, developed and delivered impactful programs for various organization. He had also trained and certified a team of soft skills trainers for the UMW Re-branding Project. Loke graduated from Leicester University in Human Resource & Training Development. He is a fully certified therapist and coach, a practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), certified Hypnotist, practitioner of Hypnotherapy and Time-Line Therapy. He is also a certified facilitator for Dr Steven Covey's '7 Habits of Highly Effective People' program.

EMPOWERING OTHERS Believing in contributing back to the society, Loke has authored and drawn 'Motivatoons' a postcard book on personal excellence. Part of the sales proceeds goes to charity, usually to children homes. He had also given free talks and his very own creation 'Balloonology' seminar to churches, orphanages and colleges.

Nigel Cumberland

NIGEL CUMBERLAND is a partner consultant for Strategic HR Soltutions for TalentEDge. He is also a senior advisor and trainer with Robotics Learning (M) Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysian training firm helping various clients including the Ministry of Education.

He also heads an award-winning regional Leadership and Talent Management Practice, called the STG Group (ww.stghk.com), regionally providing various talent management and leadership related services to clients such as Talisman Energy, PetroVietnam, Macquarie Bank and Navigos Group in locations as far afield as China, Qatar and Vietnam.

Nigel sits on the boards of various companies in the region including PT Global Solution Comindo in Indonesia, RecruitOne in Hong Kong and GSCOM Sdn Bhd. He is a co-founder of businesses in the broadband through power-line and educational robots and he also sits on the Board of Directors of various Not for Profit/NGOs including the International School of Kuala Lumpur.

Nigel leads many workshops in the region, most recently in Vietnam and China, covering various talent management and leadership topics. He is a truly inspirational speaker whose breadth of experience, clarity of thinking and positive outlook on life leaves his audiences with impactful and memorable messages.

Previously Nigel lived in Hong Kong and founded and ran an awarding-winning Greater China executive search firm called St. George’s Harvey Nash which had office located throughout China and for three years in a row was voted the Recruitment Firm of the Year by the HR Manager-readership of the China Staff magazine. Nigel sold this business to the UK’s largest recruitment company, Hays plc, in 2006. At that time he also ran an assessments and coaching business called St. George’s Human Potential which was the master distributor of the award-winning Harrison Assessment psychometric tool in Greater China.

Nigel’s extensive clients have included large number of Fortune 500 corporations including Reuters, Credit Lyonnaise, Goldman Sachs, Total, BP, Starbucks, BASF, Rhodia, Sanofi, Barclays, Alcatel-Lucent as well as leading Asian groups such as Hutchison Whampoa, Bank of China, Cathay Pacific, Jardine Group, HSBC, Maxim’s and Swire Group.

Previously Nigel had been a regional Finance Director with Coats plc, at the time a UK FTSE100 company, working with in locations as varied as Chile, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Hungary, Poland, Germany, Hong Kong and China. Nigel has also held senior executive positions with various other multinationals including Dalgety plc, Macquarie Bank and Adecco SA.

In Hong Kong he was on the Board of two international schools (both part of the English Schools Foundation): King George V and Glenealy. While there he also founded a charity that gave free job-hunting advice to the unemployed called the Getting Back to Work Foundation.

Nigel was educated at Cambridge University in the UK, obtaining both BA (Hons) & MA (Hons) degrees in Economics. He was also educated at Strathclyde University’s Business School as well as participating I numerous trainings and short courses over the years. He is also a Fellow of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and is qualified to carry out psychometric & behavioral assessments and as an executive coach. He wrote the book, Your Job-Hunt Ltd, and he also writes extensively in business journals on a range of talent and leadership issues.

Wong Keng Ling

A simple individual, aspiring by many of life's simple little things, KengLing lives by a belief there are great self-empowering abilities embedded deep within each and every one of us waiting to be discovered. With the right integration of Mind Power and a Positive Mental Attitude, people can go the extra mile, stretch their limits to greater heights to achieve what they've always wanted, and be the best person they aspire to be. She is passionate about training and development because it gives her the avenue to reach out to individuals and make a difference in lives.

Holding a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication from Nanjing University, China, KengLing started off her career as a translator and has worked in China and Taiwan.

Today as a certified NLP practitioner, Time Line Therapist, Hypnotherapist and Zen Health Practitioner, it gives her an understanding of how energy plays an important role by first vibrating thoughts and attracting the desired outcomes ones desired. In her zealous pursuit in the area of How the Mind works, she has been trained by the Bob Proctor's "Born Rich" Only Master Trainer in Asia. She impacts individuals by equipping them with powerful tools and skills towards achieving Peak Performance. Individual that experienced her coaching always claim her Passion and Enthusiam towards Life. In her latest ventures in the HR industry, she has gain knowledge and accreditation as a Consultant specialising in the area of Competency Profiling and Performance Management.

Her scope of work and strengths includes customer service, personal development, leadership development, youth development in which her has designed and conducted these programs for organizations like Wijaya International Medical Center, Sime Darby Business School, Astro, Masterskill University College of Health Science, non-profit organizations including youth centers and orphanages, The Leo Club or even the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Campaign.
